Happy Wishes

These 2 I stamped with resist on glossy, brayered with Big & Juicy Bubblegum, overstamped in black, clear embossed, on the lower 1, I used Versa Magic to overstamp on the 1 above. I was curious to see what if any effect I would get & now I know. The extra butterflies were to cover my unfortunate "ink blobs". This is a quick & easy card as it's all done with one stamp from Hero Arts.

Hair Gel Card

I'd seen this technique done years ago, finally got around to trying it & now I have lots of ideas. I also learned the hard way not to stamp on the bag after it's sealed with the gel inside, very messy. If you'd like to see the full instructions, click here. I also read not to mail this card in freezing weather as it may cause the gel to freeze & explode the bag making it very messy for the recipient, I plan on putting the card in a zip lock baggy just in case, before putting it in the envelope.

Have a Heart

I just love this stamp & have only used it once so it was time to ink it up again, I have such fun coloring this one.

Bird on a Fence

I finally inked my picket fence, about time too as I've had it for years. The background is chalked, I find that a quick, easy way for backgrounds & it doesn't over power the foreground.

Just Duckey

This little duck was fun to work with, he's from Artful Inkables, there stamps are so well trimmed & cute as well.

Here are a couple of cards I got done this weekend.

Canadian Paper Crafting Bloggers

I thoght this was a very neat idea that Nancy had to make a list on her side bar of Canadian paper crafting bloggers, so I requested that she add mine to her list. She has a very nice blog, is very talented, so even if you aren't Canadian or don't want to be added I'd still got check it out just for some inspiration.

Faces of a Vase

You've heard the expression a frown is just a smile turned upsided down, well, these faces are vases turned upside down. I saw this idea in a magazine a few years ago but never got around to trying it, now I just saw it again in Scrap & Stamp & couldn't resist. They are actually vase punches turned upside down, the eyes are a sun punch cut in half with gems stuck on, the lips are a very tiny leaf punch. The hair is a punch as well but I can't remember the name, I punched these out from a friend's punch when I first saw the article & amazed myself that I was able to find them a few years later. You could also use a flower or snowflake punch for hair. A few fibers on the neck to conceal the mouth of the vase. I think these are so funky I'll have to try doing some more of them.

Poppies on Acetate

This card was just too fun. I put Glossy Accents on acetate, a few colors of my re-inkers, glitter, then scrunched up tissue & placed it on the back. When it was completey dry I stamped the poppies on the acetate & colored the back of them directly on the tissue with Copics. Hard to see in the pic but almost like a 3D effect. You can get the full instructions for the Acetate & Tissue effece here at Split Coast Stampers.

Metal & Inks

I was playing with metal the other day & came up with this, it's all metal except for the gems & cs backing.

Denim, Dresses & Daisies

These are a couple of ATC's I did for a "D" swap. My first impulse was to do dogs but after a quick browse of my stamps I decided on the dress & denim. I've had both these stamps for more than a few years & this was their first inking, about time eh.

Acetate Bottle

This was a cute idea I saw over at Amuse, couldn't wait to give it a try, making a bottle from an oval & circle punch. I had to use my collasal to cut the oval as I found out my punch won't cut through acetate.

Acetate & Tissue Butterflies

It's been ages since I played with acetate, tissue & glossy accents, the last time I made such a mess I was a little timid to bring out the supplies, I was a little neater this time. I decided to do the stamping after it was all dried & use white Staz-on. You can find instructions for this technique at SCS if you want to give it a try.

Circles & Fancy Corners

This is what I came up with yesterday playing around with some old & new stamps that really needed to be inked up. All the stamps are from TAC, one set is fancy corners, another is circles & the strip of faux ribbon is a stamp as well. I think I'm liking it. Think I'll play around with these stamps some more to see what else I can come up with.

Pink, Black & White

These are a couple I did for a swap.

I've been TAGGED

Yes, I've been tagged, this means I pick the 3rd picture from my 3rd picture folder, post it & write about it.

This picture is Patches, one of my babies, I took it when I caught him sitting on my chair at the table where he is not allowed, you can see how well he follows the rules......NOT

Now I get to tag 3 other people & here goes:

#1 Renee you've been tagged, to help you get in the groove.
#2 Cindy, you too have been tagged.
#3 Von has been tagged as well.

Woohoo, I'm not it anymore.....lol
