Kitty Matchbook Cards

I was determined to get my matchbook cards to stay closed & thanks to my friend Dee who told me to think of a real matchbook with the staple in the middle, so, I had to give it a try & yahoo, it worked. I've had these fancy staples for a couple of years now but forget to use them. I just have to work a little harder at getting my staples straight. I haven't tried brads yet but I'm thinking they'd work as well

WEDDING CARD

This one started off as a thank you card but I decided it would become a wedding card I needed to make for a couple of friends soon to be wed.

THANK YOU CARDS

These 2 I did for a thank you swap. I stamped both backgrounds with various pastel versa mark inks & then embossed with my cuttlebug. I stamped the flower 3 times, cut individual petals to layer & added Glossy accents.

Matchbook Card

These were my first 2 attempts at Matchbook style cards. I just bought a new pastel paper stack & wanted to use it. I colored the stamps with markers before stamping, the one on the left was stamped on matt cardstock, the other was spritzed with water & stamped on watercolor paper. I was tempted to use a piece of velcro to hold the card closed but thought it may tear the paper when trying to open it. I'm stil trying to think of a way to hold it closed.

Scenic Stamping

Well it's been a while since I've played with my Stampscapes stamps but I sure had fun doing these ones. I'm in a multi stamp swap & what better stamps to use considering I used at least 6-8 stamps or more per card. Usually I do my scenes on Kromecoat paper but I've found it quicker to use matt card stock & color in with my pastel chalks. I was only required to do 2 cards but once again my addictive personality took control & I just couldn't stop.

Joani's Music Swap Card

I just had to share this card as I think it is way too cool. It was done by Joani who is the manager of the card making group I belong to & she is one talented lady. I saw it on her blog & was hoping I'd receive this one in our Music swap - woohoo, I did. You can check out her blog as it is on my blog list to your right "Cards Made by Hand", really cool creations to see there.

Squirrley Slider

Isn't this squirrel just the cutest little fellow? He's from Hero Arts, the trunk he's walking & border leaves are Stampscapes, the overhang branch is from SparklenSprinkle, it's actually a corner stamp & I'm only using about 1/2 of it here. I'm finally using some of my Stampscapes stamps for other than just scenic stamping.

ANNIVERSARY CARD

This has certainly been a social week, I had a friend come for a fun visit & stay for a couple of days, then other friends stop by for spur of the moment dinner & drinks & tonight we helped celebrate a wedding Anniversary. I'm not used to so much social activity in one week but it sure was fun. This is the only card I made this week & it was for a wedding anniversary. I don't have "Happy Anniversary" on it as I gave that stamp away thinking I didn't have a use for it.....that'll teach me eh. I would've been happier with it had I moved the oval a little more to the left but I'd already moved it once & had a little tear in the paper & wanted to conceal my faux pas. It's not often I make a card using no stamps but this is one of them. I really like the look of the photo corners made with my square punches. The manager of a group I belong to shared her instructions with me & I'm just having too much fun making them - Thank you Joani.

Kitty in a Cage Pop Up

I was playing around with pop up cards & put my sense of humor to work on this one, I just love the look on poor kitty's face.

Flower Child Slider

This was my second attempt at a slider which I like so much better. Love this stamp & I haven't used it in ages.

Poppy Slider

I decided to try my hand at slider cards & this was my first attempt - not my favorite card but they are fun to do.
